be動詞の決まり文句｜中学英熟語

be 動詞に形容詞・過去分詞が続き、その後ろの前置詞まで含めて 1 つの形になるもの 17。
前置詞を 1 つ間違えると通じないので、形容詞と前置詞をセットで覚えます。

分かれ目は 3 つあります。

be made of と be made from … 机を見れば木だと分かるので of。チーズを見ても牛乳だとは
分からないので from。材料が形を変えているかどうかが線です。
be good at と good at … 意味は同じですが、good at のほうは be 以外の動詞のあとにも
置けます（get good at＝得意になる）。
for と from … be famous for は有名な理由、be different from と be absent from は
離れている相手。for は向かう先、from は出どころ、と考えると取り違えにくくなります。
