「旅行」の言い分けが分かれ目です。
tripは行って帰るまで、journeyは長い移動そのもの、tourはあちこち回る旅。修学旅行はschool tripです。travelは動詞、tripは名詞が中心。「旅行に行く」はtake a tripかgo on a tripと言います。
